I was out talking with my girl friends yesterday night. The topics of discussion was enlightening. It was fun to see the way we girls grew up and how our mentality and thinking changes as we age.
We have known each another for eons. We saw how all of us changed. From spectacles to contact lenses, from 13 to now 23, from being childish to now the working young adults (ermm.. except me la, I went back to study), from complaining about homework to complaining about work, from not knowing how to drive to everyone driving now. Major difference, extreme changes, but yet we are still best of friends. Now we spend time talking, understanding each another, expressing our different views about life, exchanging experiences and obviously gossiping (though the gossip QUEEN is not around – hey girl come back home lar!).
Back in school, we were more worried about how we’ll manage to get through the exams, going to tuition classes after school. Now, we’d imagine what would happen 3-4 years down the road. At our age now, we’re trying hard to figure out what we want in life, job-hopping to find our true passion, struggling with work even though we do not like it as we are no longer supported by our dear parents, expanding our networks and the weird people we meet along the way.
It is weird sometimes. Every outing together, I realized that we have matured a little. No one said growing up is easy, but having a good bunch of friends help ease the process. It is difficult to find friends who support you through ups and downs. Hence, I appreciate my good buddies. I am waiting to see what we’ll achieve, how we look like another 10 years down the road (wahliao.. 33 years old!).
The support and opinions you gals gave me all these while were very much appreciated. Love you gals! Remember our outing later this month. By the way, who is going to buy the lanterns?? :)
P/s: GOSSIP QUEEN, can you join us end of this month. Come back my dear, it will be fun. It is nearer for you to come back than for me OK!!!!
